Framed caricature of "Don Parker" by Sallon of the "Daily Mirror"

The text in the picture reads as follows:-

DON PARKER started his 500 c.c. racing career with a home-built machine, the C.F.S., in 1947. After many experiments in his Battersea engineering works Parker came up with the maroon-painted Kieft, assembled from a "parts kit," with which he won the
"Light Car" 500 c.c. Championship in 1954 and 1955. This season he is driving as well as ever
at the wheel of a Cooper.

This picture is from a set of cartoons commissioned by Shell-Mex and BP Ltd. to mark the 60th anniversary of the British Motor Industry in October 1956. It featured racing drivers both from the past and present at that time. See my other auctions for some of the other pictures.

Historical picture framed in a 25 x 20 cm. (10 x 8 inch) size frame.

Naturally the picture you are bidding on does NOT have the "SAMPLE" watermark!!
