This is a very nice Vietnam War U.S. Special Forces Green Beret that is in original and excellent condition. It is constructed of fine green Melton wool and is with 2 black enameled air vents on the right-hand side. Machine sewn to the front is a nice 5th Special Forces flash with a separately applied black enamel Special Forces ‘DE OPPRESSO LIBER’ (‘to liberate the oppressed’) insignia pinned through the flash. The black leather edge band remains supple and is without damage. The black rayon drawstring at the back of the beret has been tied and clipped. This remains a beautiful looking example as worn by the elite special forces Green Berets during the Vietnam War.
