This is a first issue circa 1939-1940 United States Marine Corps Reserve Medal that is in excellent condition. The planchet features a military soldier walking beside a civilian. Above them, along the upper edge are the words, “Marine Corps Reserve” and below their feet are the words, “For Service”. The reverse is with the words, “Fidelity, Zeal, Obedience” around the outer edge with the plain center not being engraved. The planchet is with virtually all the original bronze finish. It is suspended from the original ribbon and mounted on a full wrap broach. Both the pin and roller locking assemblies are fully functional. A very hard to find example that remains in excellent condition.
