Our client's pair of bronze candelabra are finely sculpted, cast and gilded in the Empire style.  Each 14 by 9 by 9 inches (35.5 by 22.9 cm).  They feature faceted columnar standards, round bases with repeating palmette motifs, and three arms featuring classical masks, circular drip pans, candle holders with anthemion designs and their original bobeches.

Their faceted standards and use of anthemions and palmettes were features found in the designs of Andrei Schreiber (1777-1843) of St. Petersburg, circa 1800.  The artist modelled some works after the original designs of the French Empire period designer, Claude Galle (1758-1815).
