This is a beautiful old side knife that features pierced carved dagger type blade with animal bone grip.  The knife measures 16 3/4" OAL with blade measuring approx. 10".  The entire blade has been cleaned revealing scattered evidence of old rust.  The bone handle is smooth and appears to be attached with a single pin covered by old cartridge cases as can be seen in the pics.  Overall the knife shows excellent patina with signs of use.  I was told by an expert in this field that the knife is an old reproduction-looks ancient to my novice level experience.   See Pics
