I suggest replacing both gearboxes at once.  If one is stripped or broken, the other is usually not in very good shape either.  While you have the vehicle taken apart, replace them both.  The gearbox in your vehicle may or may not have the metal plate attached to the gearbox depending on year of production.  This gearbox will work for both.  Please see pictures above for reference.
