Do I really need to say anything? I'm guessing you're a Birks fan, and already know that Birkenstock have been in the biz for years, making high quality German footwear that's kind to your feet. But anyway...
The standard Gizeh is a minimalist thong sandal that was designed in 1983 and continues to be a classic Birkenstock fave. The metal buckle on the strap can be adjusted to ensure an individual fit, and the anatomically shaped toe piece guides the toes into their natural position. It's a popular style, both versatile and comfortable, and is a great choice for everyday wear.
This stunning vintage pair, however, is not what I'd call minimalist! They're limited edition, and the result of a collaboration between Tico Torres (the drummer from Bon Jovi) and Birkenstock for his rock 'n' roll brand ROCK STAR BABY, which he created for hip babies, kids, teens and adults.
Made from black suede, they're decorated with lots of black crystals which sparkle when they catch the light. They've been in my collection for years, but I always saved them for best. Thus, they're in very good condition and still look a-m-a-z-i-n-g, with all original crystals intact. I stopped reaching for them a while back, as I'd rather not draw attention to my old tootsies. Sadly, it's time for them to go.
