PONY - THE MAGAZINE FOR THE YOUNG RIDER

Pony - The Magazine for The Young Rider is a lovely publication, mainly aimed at the pony-mad young girl, and these vintage magazines capture essence of the gymkhana, pony-show and riding set. Featuring pictures (b&w) from the Shows, Horse & Pony News, tips and hints on riding, Pat and Pickles strip cartoon by Elizabeth E Bailey and a short story. Edited by Lieut-Col C. E. G. Hope, there’s a lovely nostalgic feel to the magazine and its advertisements.

In this issue:

  • Short Story: King Kelpie by Carol Vaughan
  • Riding School Profile: Somers Riding Stables, Somers Mews, Southwick Street, London W2 - Ross Nye

  • Stable Talks - Part 3 by R. S. Summerhays
  • Care to Work in a Racing Stable? by Mona Jackson - Billy Williams of Town Barton, Nr Ilsington, South Devon
  • North American Rural Rides by Beryl Collins - Deserts

The magazine measures 28cm x 21.5cm and has pages 3 - 41

Condition: The magazine is in very good vintage condition, showing some creasing to the covers, evidence of reading wear. A delivery address is written on the front cover. Given that the magazine is over 50 years old, its condition is very good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just get in touch!
