1983 Enja 4052 Tommy Flanagan Trio Thelonica. First anywhere issue Audiophile Direct Metal Master German press from this great German Label. Somewhat of a super trio, given that its George Mraz on Bass and Art Taylor on Drums. AllMusic agreed with my thoughts that this is a top shelf issue, as they gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars. The LP opens and closes with direct single takes of the title tune, a sort of double tribute to the Baroness who looked after Monk at the end of his life. In between are trio sessions of Monk tunes, including of course, Pannonica. We never heard a monk recording sound as crisp and clear as this (I know, I have them all, mainly mint UK originals and the Craft stuff; I love him to bits). Mraz is more than a match for John Ore, on a par with Pettiford, but this is in full deep bass sound in an ideal soundstage on a high end system, recorded on to half inch tape, with the wider range and a step removed from the plating that DMM is. Other sellers of this have lesser condition copies with in one instance $64 postage, so this is a great deal for a beautiful lp in as new condition.

Our ethos is to offer you best sounding analogue only pressings of vintage records. Here is another beauty of that type.
We offer massive postage subsidies to overseas buyers on multiple purchases. i.e £1 extra per lp to a maximum of £15, then no extra charge.
We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water.
This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
