The Meanwell RS 15W, 25W, 35W, 50W, 75W, 100W and 150W units are fan-less "industrial" caged models with screw terinal connections. All units rely on convection cooling. All units have hic-cup mode current limiting*. They also have Over Voltage Protection (OVP) and a 3 year Australian warranty. Only the RS-15 has Over Temperature Protection (OTP). *Note some models appear to have "constant power limiting" (see our user manual for an explanation of this).

The Meanwell LRS 35W, 50W, 75W, 100W and 150W units are also listed here as an alternative, they provide a smaller, more efficient unit and lower cost unit (some provide a higher wattage drop-in replacement for RS models). They also provide lower temperature operation and the LRS-150 has Over Temperature Protection, a 36V output option and a wider output voltage adjustment range!

Please note that these Meanwell power supplies provide a "regulated" DC output and those equal or less than 5V may not supply the wattage as suggested in the model no. (e.g. the RS-100-5 provides 5V at 16 Amps hence it supplies 5 x 16 = 80 Watts max. "continuous" not 100 Watts). They also operate from 100 to 240VAC input (except the 150W units which have a 115VAC/230VAC switch) and provide an output voltage adjustable by a minimum of -5% to +10%. Many voltages such as 13.8V, 27.6V, 55.2V are possible (see individual data sheet) for battery charging or other applications. For a video on adjusting the output voltage... click here NOTE: Meanwell sets all voltages at 50% output current... an insulated pot adjust tool is recommended... connecting to ALL output terminals is recommended as damage to terminals or the PCB can occur otherwise!

MEAN WELL Enterprises Co., is a Taiwan based company started in 1982 with strong ties worldwide (some well-known companies re-badge their products) and they provide excellent support and backup. Meanwell is a TQM (Total Quality Management) company and is ISO9001 certified. In 2017, the 2-year return rate was 1 in 6600. Meanwell power supplies are extremely reliable in our experience with only one unit DOA (Dead On Arrival) that was replaced and three returned during the warranty period in the 10+ years we have been selling... one power supply had been installed in a control box outdoors (for advertising) and had been attacked by a nest of ants! Some "on-the-web" comments... 1. "I have hundreds of 600 Watt 24V Meanwells running in the field and probably another 100+ 350Watt 5V running in the field and they are the most reliable piece of equipment compared to everything else. I've -never- replaced one in over 11 years, but I have replaced a lot of cruddy circuit boards designed or assembled by the less technically inclined (companies).", 2. "But in the end I've learnt a lesson here and that is spend the extra cash and buy some quality power supplies like the meanwell brand or else you could be in for a very frustrating time but I don't have the budget for that this year so I'll have to deal with what I have (sad face)". 3. Need a decent power supply... I can recommend mean well supplies. They are low end industrial supplies but are good quality, much better than no-name chinese supplies you can get from ebay etc.. I use mean well in lots of equipment and have had very few failures in thousands of hours of run time.
