CORONATION OF CZAR NICHOLAS II, LAST OF THE RUSSIAN CZARS -
THE SOLEMN PROCESSION IN THE KREMLIN.
Photograph of the coronation procession of Nicholas II,
Emperor of Russia (1868-1918), last of the Russian Czars. Nicholas II, wearing
full regalia, is standing under a decorative canopy supported by soldiers.
Dignitaries and soldiers are walking ahead and behind him. There is a large
crowd to the right. The coronation of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia took place
at the Assumption Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin on the 14th of May 1896.
Czar Nicholas was forced to abdicate in 1917 following the
Russian Revolution. He and the Czarina, their son and four daughters were
murdered by the Bolshevists July 6, 1918 in Ekaterinburg.
