Original Steel Engraving, 8” x 10 ¾” overall, titled “THE DEATH OF GENERAL MONTGOMERY, in the attack of Quebec.  Dec[embe]r 1775,” with a 5 ¾” x 8 ½” image depicting the scene at the Revolutionary War Battle of Quebec, where Continental Army General Richard Montgomery was killed on December 31, 1775.  Further imprinted “John Trumbull delt.  Jas. Archer sc.” immediately beneath the image.

Lightly toned, with superficial staining; there are several creases in the margins and small tears at the edges.
