Fender Bassman 1964

Blackface AA864 circuit.

November 1964 - NK stamp on the label.
It's an original export 240v model, so no messing about with step down transformers.  .

It has an unknown hole on the faceplate (which may have been an Allen mod?) but it's the stock circuit now.  Very quiet amp, recent new power valves,   Original transformers.

It does NOT come with the Port City cab.  Head only for sale.

The AA864 is a rare circuit to find original. It precedes the AA165 / AB165 circuit which followed on to the silverface amps.  To my ears it has the better cleans and it stays clean for a little longer. The AB165 is a great in your face rock circuit. It breaks up earlier than the AA864 - it has an extra gain stage.  AA864's are much less common than the AB165.

The AA-864 Fender circuit is the most respected of all the Blackface Fender Bassman circuits, and other circuits are often converted to AA-864 specs.

COLLECTION ONLY - although I have shipped amps and also shipped overseas I would much prefer you to come and see this amp for yourself.
