Vintage Promotional Herald / Flyer

Up for auction is a vintage souvenir promotional advertising herald or flyer, measuring approximately 5.75 by 8.625 inches in size.  Heralds are advertising flyers that are typically placed at theaters, and sometimes included in Playbills and Programs.  This single sheet, double sided herald is for Oscar Hammerstein 2nd's "Carmen Jones", based on Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen", and playing at the Broadway Theatre, in New York City, in 1943.

The souvenir herald is in good, vintage condition, with no writing and minimal soiling.  However, there is a 0.75 inch tear at the bottom of the herald, several small additional tears (primarily along the bottom edge), creasing along the upper right edge as well as a small chip at that corner, and a vertical crease that runs across the entire length of the herald near its center.
