Anna Karenina 1886 Tolstoy Crowell First Edition.

New York.: Thomas Y Crowell, 1886. Appears to be a well-crafted First Edition. Hard cover. Very good. No dust jacket. Minor cover blemishing and soiling. Light edge wear. Impact to top of pages affects approximately 40 to 50 pages with a 1/4" tear and bends (see last photo, which illustrates an example of the worst of this damage). A few other pages noted with small tears at edge of pages, light stains noted on a few pages.  Seams, binding intact; Illustratrator not named. 773 p. Includes inserts: Author portrait; Glossary at back. Gold top page block. Gold titles. Ornate cover graphic. Light green cloth over boards. Light blue decorative border lines. Lists near front, "Chief Persons of the Story" and "Illustrations". Introduction and biography by translator Nathan Haskell Dole. It's a very nice copy of this classic 19th century enduring Russian romance novel. Pictures are part of the description so please study them closely. Please ask questions if you have any!
