I restored the finish with a rich stain & many, many coats of hand rubbed laquer, it showcases the Tiger oak grains & provides great protection , I find it beautiful, perhaps you will too!

Mounting tips: fits a project up to 1 1/4” thick, the threaded rod is not removable, just install the washer tighten the nut which are provided & stand back & admire your beautiful knob!!
