VLASTA DOLL artist PAT THOMPSON dressed in elegant antique lace 22" REBECCA

VLASTA DOLL artist PAT THOMPSON dressed in elegant antique lace 22" REBECCA

Lovely doll has a stockinette molded cloth face with painted features including large brown eyes and pink lips. Her body is firmly stuffed cloth. Her long, ash blonde hair falls to her waist in sausage curls. Doll wears an elaborate outfit featuring antique laces and ribbon roses. In her right hand she holds a small basket also adorned with ribbon, lace and flowers.

Made by the renowned doll artist Pat Thompson ("Vlasta" was Pat Thompson's mothers name). A paper tag is attached to her identifying her and stating that the fabric she is made with comes from Switzerland and that many of the laces and trims date back to the 1800's.

The Vlasta doll studio was destroyed by fire in 1995.  Pat Thompson (1927 - 2007) was an interior decorator before she retired and started making her elegant dolls in 1980.

Doll is 22" tall including the height of her large bonnet.

This is Rebecca, a Pat Thompson Vlasta doll. She is clean with no dust or fading. She comes from a smoke-free collector's estate in Wichita, Kansas. She was displayed in an enclosed glass cabinet with a parasol and a carousel horse which appear to be Vlasta pieces as well (see my other listings). Rebecca comes with a doll stand. No box. Please inspect photos.
