"Romera was a talented young woman with a blessed spirit and voice, which music and singing was her life at what she studied while in high school. Romera was 15 when she performed at the great Carnegie Hall in N.Y. Romera which she was so proud of her accomplishment. She graduated from Murray Bergtraum High School in New York then moved to Miami, Florida in 1987 where she attended Miami Dade College where she studied African History & Business Communication at Barry University. Romera became a very prominent leader and speaker for the Black Student Union at Miami Dade College. She changed the name of the organization to African American Student Union. She joined the Yoruba Culture in the late 90’s; and studied in the house of Ile Ife in Miami where she then became known as Asabi. In November 1997 she elevated her spirit within the Yoruba culture and was initiated to the Orisha Oshun. As her understand of the culture developed as an active priestess she took on the role of a padrina (God mother) to many and later earned the name Omisoore."
