Perfect for many purposes, the image on this Poster is a wonderful illustration by Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966) - one of the leading artists associated with the Golden Age of Illustration. It was published as the frontispiece to 'The Desert' (by Arthur Casslett Smith) in Scribner's Magazine (December 1902).

Parrish's work is characterized by an attention to detail, composition and texture - whether in his monotone work or in his more recognizable, luminous color illustrations.
