Up for sale is a rare pair of 18th century brass and cast iron Federal double lemon  fireplace andirons.

They're made of thick turned brass with lovely silhouettes and have acquired a lovely patina from age.

The andirons feature footed spherical legs and have wrought iron rests that are peened to the andirons underneath.

The pair is in nice antique condition, well made, and each measures 19 inches tall by 8 3/4 inches wide by 18 inches back to front.

There is a split in one shaft and a dent on a lemon as shown in last photos
