It was used as the End Paper design for a number of books including Raggedy Ann's Fairy Stories (1928) and Raggedy Ann's Magical Wishes (1928).

Gruelle was an American artist, political cartoonist, children's book and comics author, illustrator, and storyteller - he is renowned as the creator of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls and the author/illustrator of associated books.
