If you are or were from the Saginaw Valley area of Michigan and are from the right time slot, you may remember Marc Wesley a news & sports anchor from WNEM TV5, we attended Marc’s estate sale on the weekend of 8/26/22 in Bridgeport, Mi. and found lots of Very Cool items!  We saved some items for ourselves, friends and family, but are offering you a chance to carry on his or his families memories.
Marc & his wife Susanne each had matching bookshelves, you could tell which was which, this hard cover book is from her side and we though a little more unusual than the rest, it is titled “The Cat In My Mind” by John Inglis Hall with illustrations by Lilian Mackendrick and printed in Great Britian by Oliver Burridge & Co. for Putnan & Co. and is dated 1958.  The first page of the book is inscribed in very beautiful fountain pen cursive writing “1960  To Mother, In the interest of our common problem - “The Cat In My Mind”! Or should I say “Cats”!  Happy Birthday and Love Always Sue”.  The book is used with marks, spots, wear and light dirt on the cover, but solid with an excellent spine.  All pages look to be there and are in excellent shape.  The book measures 8 3/4” x 5 5/8” x 5 1/16” thick, no musty, foul or cigarette smells. No dust cover and we have not tried to clean the little white specks off the cover, they may come off with a little work.

We have sold many rare items in our store including two official Key’s To The City Of Saginaw, one from the mid-70’s the other one unknown, Native American items, rare & vintage fishing reels, vintage toy robots, vintage lighters, old knives, new knives, old car & truck parts, vintage Harley Davidson Motorcycle items, vintage locks, vintage watches, rare car compasses, historical items, vintage beer signs & collectibles, old banks, vintage diner glasses and ashtrays, toys, unusual and weird items, plus much more. He was raised in Evanston and the Saugatuck, MI area, graduating from Evanston Township High School. After briefly attending DePau University in Indiana, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, attending parachute jump school and also studied special services at Indiana University. He received his Bachelor's Degree in 1957 and his Masters Degree in 1959 in Communications from Northwestern University. While in school, he worked as an announcer for FM radio stations in Chicago and Grand Rapids, MI. He began his television career as an announcer/director at WPTV in Palm Beach, FL ('60 - '63) and WTVO, Rockford, IL ('62 - '65). He used Marc Wesley as his professional name throughout his career. He came to WNEM-TV5 in 1965, where he anchored news and sports until his retirement in 1991. Being an avid golfer allowed him to support various area non-profit organizations, especially the Saginaw County American Cancer Society's Marc Wesley Golf Classic, "The Marc". He was a long-time member of the Outdoor Writers of America and the Michigan Outdoor Writers Association. During his term as its President, he established programs encouraging others to appreciate the many outstanding opportunities that Michigan has to offer. Besides golf, he was passionate about fishing, be it in the ponds on Bridgeport Country Club or the many trips he made to Lake Superior's Isle Royale National Park”.
