Crouse-Hinds Aldis WWII USN Navy Morse Signal Spotlight w shutter w Case X bulbs NAF 1081-1 2038 WH This is a WWII U.S.Navy signal light or Aldis lamp. It was manufactured by the Crouse Hinds Co. and has shutters for sending Morse Code by light. The light itself is about 8 1/2" in diameter and about a foot long. Very nice working used condition.  Crouse-Hinds Spotlight NAF 1081-1 2038H Comes with several extra bulbs. Nice louvered shutters for signaling. Very cool piece. would be perfectly at home on an old wooden Engineers tripod in your funky loft.  Nice working piece of history. the shutter or louvers do work, but could use some lubrication to make the action a little smoother. Glass lens is very nice. no chips or cracks. the black louvers are marked HL-P 1077 and HL-P 1078 the post mount is marked HL-P 1071 handle to adjust the louvers is marked HL-P 1with an anchor symbol inbetween the U and the S That is a rare low serial number for this fine light.
