The Avant Garde spirit and Neo-Suprematism style of Kazimir Malevich seems to embody this witty interpretation of the classic Ukrainian Hopak or and Russian Prisyádka dancer.

This joyful leaping and kicking dancer is marked on one leg with CC 1992 SRGF for Creative Commons (Copyright) 1992

The Guggenheim Museum Gift Store would have retailed this colorful and fun Ukrainian or Russian Dancer Doll back in 1992!

Soft stuffed doll measures: 11" Tall x 9" at Widest x 2.5" at Deepest

Also In 1992, the Guggenheim published an incredible book titled: The Great Utopia: The Russian and Soviet Avant-Garde,1915–1932.  While it does not show this specific figure the colors and shadings are reminiscent of Kazimir's work of the late 1920s early 30s; Half-Figure in a Yellow Shirt, Carpenter, and Peasants (1930).
