There are lots of compartments for iPads or laptops and your other work/ school stuff. One main compartment with two side compartments for electronics and two zippered pockets on the inside. There are a total of 4 outside pockets for things like keys, phone, pens and pencils, things like that on the outside (white parts). Then there is another outside zippered compartment with a couple of pockets for small items like post-its, writing instruments, gum..etc. THEN another zippered compartment above the "eyes" of the Storm Trooper and a larger zippered pocket on the back of the bag.
