MECCANO MAGAZINE
December 1961 Volume XLVI (46) No 12
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR FURTHER IMAGES

Meccano Magazine was a classic magazine for boys that ran for decades and covered not only Meccano model making but also had a wide variety of other non-fiction articles focusing on engineering, trains, planes and automobiles. These 1960s issues are great, giving a snapshot of boys’ interests from some 6 decades ago. Additionally, the adverts are wonderful!

In this issue:
  • Cover Picture - In Remote Alaska
  • Drillling the Mohole - Penetrating the Earth’s Thin Crust by Tom Gaskell - Project Mohole
  • Your Christmas Tree has Historic Roots
  • A Journey on the Alaska Railroad
  • Hornby-Dublo Two-Rail Co-Co Diesel Electric Locomotive - Meccano’s London Showroom - 51 Wagons Hauled 100 Actual Miles non-stop
  • Mark X Jaguar
  • Stirling Moss
  • Borg-Warner Transmission
  • Deltic Diesels Tremendous Power - English Electric Co-Co Deltic
  • The Blackpool Tower Ascent
  • Britain’s Lighthouse Tenders

Pages 425 - 470 plus additional advertising pages

The magazine measures 24 x 19 cm

Condition: Good - the magazine is in good vintage condition. There is evidence of light reading wear, minor creasing to the covers, minor damage to the covers at the spine - visible in the pictures below. Considering the magazine is over 60 years old, its condition is good but certainly not perfect. The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive.

I accept returns, and if you'd like to see further pictures, or any questions - just ask!
