Antique PINE BABY'S ROCKING CRADLE 13" Pine Boards Sq. Iron Nails - c. 1860s

37.5" long x 16.5" wide x 16" tall

This amazing survival is a pine baby's cradle with rockers. The rockers are well-worn, with many years of use apparent (see photo - this wear can't be faked!). The side boards are 3/8" pine, while the head and foot boards are 1/2" - for sturdiness - signs of a good carpenter. The widest boards are 13"...these boards are not seamed or rabbet-joined - these came from a HUGE tree, indicative of great age. Every nail used in construction is an square-headed iron nail (see photos). I estimate this was made between 1860-80 but it is very hard to put an exact date on it. LOOK OVER THESE PHOTOS. They show the wear on the edges and all over the surface - this was used and used again...

Buyers, Please Note: The items I sell are "used," or "formerly owned," or "vintage," or perhaps "antique." NONE OF THESE ITEMS ARE EVER 100% PERFECT - they may have slight signs of wear, - scratches, dimples, bumps, rubs, etc. Even brand new items have some imperfections - and these old eyes may miss some once in a while. So I rarely use the word "PERFECT" when describing items that I sell - because if you look hard enough a flaw can be found in anything. So I want you to understand how difficult it is for a seller to catch every scuff, bump, or manufacturing imperfection an item may possess.

I strive to accurately describe what I sell. If I spy a damage or a major imperfection I will clearly state it and if possible photograph it for the listing, too. However, some 'flaws' are not damage - they are either normal signs of usage or a condition inherent in the item, like the fine cracks in an oil painting: the older the item, the more likely these signs of usage will be in evidence. Some may be too small to be photographed. I strive to find and mention these conditions - but if I miss something you find to be significant please just bring it to my attention and we will work it out to your 100% satisfaction.

My buyers' opinion is very important to me. That said, I cannot offer you 'perfect' items unless they are new, unopened, or in their original packaging from the factory - so please do not expect 'perfection' UNLESS the item is described as "MINT - NEW IN BOX!." A vintage or antique item will be described fully and as accurately by me as I can but I may miss something by accident. Should you discover something that troubles you, DO NOT CONTACT EBAY FIRST but rather email me immediately and let's discuss it. In most cases I will want the offending item returned to me (and I will pay return postage!) and I usually will not offer discount for you to keep it. Some dishonest buyers will claim damage on anything, just to squeeze the seller into kicking back a portion of the purchase price: That is NOT me!

You have a perfect right to expect what you buy to give you satisfaction - and if a minor flaw interferes with achieving that satisfaction you can and should bring this to the seller's attention. I will work very hard to earn your highest "5" rating, because if you rate a seller lower than "5" in any category this can interfere  with a seller's ability to do business on eBay: eBay is VERY tough on its sellers!

PLEASE NOTE: All items shipped via USPS Priority Mail or via FedEx are insured. In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged, please do the following: 1) Contact me by email immediately, 2) The buyer will be required to notify the shipping carrier and file an insurance claim, 3) Save ALL packing materials and the original box, 4) Be prepared to take photographs of the damaged item AND the box + packing because this may be required by the carrier for a claim to be processed.
