THE RAREST EDITION OF THE FIRST BEATLES LP

There can't be many of this lable - EXTRA 33⅓ period, briefly issued at the VERY BEGINNING of the new lable design, with a freshly revised newer lable on the other side, and packaged in the FINAL FIRST PRINTING ANGUS MCBEAN COVER - with the telltale positioning of his credit at the right under the lp title.

In this condition? It is really doubtful there were ever more than a handful with this configuration even new in 1963!

This particular copy was sold in Scandinavia & not in The UK, so it's possible it was considered for the new market The Beatles were touring in this period.

Incidentally - it's worthwhile to watch the remarkable YouTube videos from the tour, as the lucky TV audience were politely quiet and respectful, and The Beatles could actually hear themselves! Wonderfully historic, and involving.

This original 1963 British pressing LP is a significant album of early BEATLES lps, the debut "Please Please Me" ... at the time when the boys were yet to cause manic fervour, singles shooting to the "toppermost of the poppermost" British charts!

At the time of this lable issue, Mono was the regular format, and STEREO was only available by special order, and normally only by audiophiles!

It's the VERY FIRST Yellow & Black lable, making it an instant collectable.

This has been handled with extreme care, very close to Mint, and extraordinarily rare like this.

Playing clearly, strong album as produced by the studio master - George Martin, when he and the group had just met, and were yet to fully get to know each other!

Indeed the whole session lasted just one day, and a little more for perfecting the mix pre-pressing. The STEREO edition wasn't even issued at the same time as the Mono, and initially was only available as a special order, and by post!

CONDITION;

The VINYL grades NEAR MINT, and can have been found in 1963 like this.

There are no scuffs or marks. I have played it only a couple of times - it may not have been played before me.

Yellow on Black PARLOPHONE Lables are NEAR MINT no stains, stickers or pen.

The LAMINATED original 3-tab COVER is EXCELLENT, see photos.

Flat, light wear, a little bending has occurred at the right top and bottom corners.

The rear has a date in light blue pen.

All text is all clear and clean.

The inner polythene lined cover is included, it is also in top condition.

See pictures.
