CDV (carte de viste) photograph of a young woman identified as "Kate Wallingford" on the front.

Kate Wallingford was born 16 April 1845 in Mason Co., Kentucky, daughter of Joseph H. Wallingford (1807 - 1898) and Amanda Morehead (1812 - 1893). On the 10th of November 1869, she married Nathan Payne Cochran, born 3 August 1842 in Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky, son of James Wasson Cochran (1812 - 1885) and Theodocia Payne (1822 - 1894). They divorced in 1890. Kate died 6 July 1921 and rests in the Maysville Cemetery in Mason Co., Kentucky. Her estate was valued at $125,000. She left $12,000, her house and an automobile to her maid, Mary Crowe. The balance went to nieces, nephews, friends and Episcopal churches.

Kate and Nathan had one son: Ashby Wallingford Cochran (1873 - 1889). He rests near his mother in the Maysville cemetery.
