EA Hurricane Panels are designed to withstand even the toughest weather conditions. They have been tested to perform in wind zones exceeding 180mph, in compliance with the latest Florida Building Code and International Building Code wind standards (ASCE7-10). They are also tested to withstand a 9-lb large 2” x 4” missile impact from windborne debris, in accordance with the ASTM E1886/E1996 protocols, which are among the most rigorous in the world. Additionally, the Aluminum .050” panels have been tested to meet the High Velocity Hurricane Zone TAS 201-202 and 203 standards (the old Miami-Dade test standards). Clear Polycarbonate panels, which can be used alone or mixed into our patented Clear/Metal/Clear applications, are also available and have been tested to the same standards. EA Hurricane Fabric is a highly durable material that can be cut to fit in a factory or on site with basic tools. It is tested to withstand a 9-lb large missile, in compliance with all Florida, Texas, and International Building Code test standards. The fabric is made of a material similar to ballistic Nylon, with a weatherproof coating, and attaches with easy-to-use clips that can be adjusted on the job for optimal placement. The fabric is semi-translucent, which helps to avoid that closed-in "cave" feeling and is lightweight, making it easy to install and roll up for simple storage. Unlike most of our competitors, the EA Hurricane Fabric is solid and does not have small pores that allow water to pass through, which can cause additional damage to your home.
