Down Beat is an American Music Magazine, published fortnightly, and is devoted to Jazz, Blues and Beyond. Popular features of Down Beat magazine include its Reviews section where jazz critics use a 1- to 5-Star rating system to rate the musical recordings and publications. Additionally its famous Blindfold Test column, in a which a musician listens to records by other artists, tries to guess who they are, makes for interesting reading. The magazines are illustrated with black & white pictures.
