A simply beautiful French hand stitched large heavy quilt, with a paisley pinky pattern, the reverse being a lovely checked blue and white cotton fabric. This has plenty of wear to it, some areas of holes, it has been patched in several places and has some discolouration and yellowing in other places.  Please do not hesitate to message me to request more images. I won't be able to show you every single mark, patch, but I can certainly send more photos over. I believe this piece to be made towards the end of the 19th Century. It's a stunning piece, which I seriously am struggling to part with. It's very heavy, and is a great example of one of the original weighted fabrics. There are so many ways in which to use this piece, I particularly like it turned down, as shown in one of the photographs, the way beds used to be made. Equally, you can use on a chair, sofa, to cover or snuggle under. I love this piece, as it was obviously made with such love, the craftsmanship and hours which will have gone into it. Possibly handed down and someone has loved it enough to darn with adorable patches on both sides. Please look closely at the photos as some of the patches on the right side (ie pinky side) can be hard to spot, but I've tried to capture examples.

The quilt is shown on a double bed, in the video you will see there is plenty overhang on the double bed.
