Cinderella Stamp, 1 Penny Token for The Regiment Magazine of the British Volunteer Force

The Volunteer Force was a citizen army of part-time rifle, artillery and engineer corps, created as a popular movement throughout the British Empire in 1859.

The Regiment was a magazine described as 'An illustrated military journal for every body'. "The journal contains numerous military anecdotes, features and photographs. It includes: A series of features on 'our volunteers', including group photos of volunteer units; their regimental nicknames and regimental pets; sporting notes; various series encompassing mini-biographies of well known non-commissioned officers (NCO's) and famous battles or engagements. Additionally, there are series on regular regiments' well known soldiers with caricatures; and Victoria Cross winners."

The magazine was published between 1896 and 1917 and this stamp was a token for one issue of The Regiment.
