STEPHENS TRUSONIC 122AX COAXIAL SPEAKER IN BEAUTIFUL BLONDE CABINET.
TIME CAPSULE IN EXQUISITE CONDITION!

All original, unrestored, early 1950s large maple cabinet fit for any living room.  Great WAF, (wife acceptance factor)!
This gorgeous, solidly built piece of Mid-Century furniture really makes the single driver 12" coaxial speaker sing!

From the 1955 Allied Radio catalog- "The Stephens 122AX is the top of the line 12" speaker, with a 2" voice coil, alnico V magnetic
structure and double exponential high frequency horn with wide angle dispersement.  Clean, distinct bass reproduction with a 5000
cycle dividing network.  Impedance 16 ohms.  High efficiency speaker."

I've listened to this for hours without fatigue powered by very low wattage tube equipment from the same period.

Looking inside the cabinet, it appears the 122AX has lived in there probably since 1955 or so!

Robert Lee Stephens was an important pioneer in Motion Picture Sound Systems design in the 1930s
His company became one of the Big Three for Theatrical Sound along with James B. Lansing and Altec Lansing in
Los Angeles, California, the Entertainment Capital of the World.

This is not a small cabinet, approximate dimensions are 33" high, 27" wide, 19" deep.
Weighs close to 100 pounds.

In back of the cabinet, handwritten shows Stephen Trusonic, Culver City, Model 122AX and serial #3886.
Not sure if the company or who printed that.

The grill cloth is original, no tears.
Color is more like a creamy blonde popular in the early '50s.

This gem stands out in my collection of dozens and dozens of pair of vintage speakers- aesthetically and sonically.

Preference is local pickup, but will deliver it to packing and shipping company of buyers choice.
