Theatre Arts Monthly was a monthly American publication that ran from 1916 to 1964. Broad in scope and handsomely designed, the publication contained in-depth coverage of every aspect of the theatre-world, and these vintage magazines offer today’s readers a permanent record of American dramatic art in its formative period, introducing dramatic trends and events, and to the emergence of new and important dramatists, directors, playwrights and stage designers of the time. There are also articles on the emerging movie scene and drama in Europe, South America and Russia. Not to mention the wonderful advertisements!

In this issue:
  • The Plays They Talk About - The Sum of the Season by Edith JR Isaacs
  • Big Show in Flushing Meadow by Morton Eustis - World Fair
  • The Body of Atlas by Rosamond Gilder
  • Manhattan Odyssey by Tom Squire
  • Toto - The Portrait of a Clown by Thelma Harris Glazer - Armando Novello
  • Dances of the World

Pictures include:
  • Norman Bel Geddes
  • Eugene Loring, Lew Christensen and Todd Bolender in Billy The Kid
  • Walter Dorwin Teague - Ford Company film
  • Toto - Armando Novello

Condition: The covers are rather fragile and show minor damage to the edges and spine, the staples have rusted. However, given that this magazine is around 80 years old, its condition is pretty good and all pages are fully legible!

I accept returns and any questions - just ask!
