Vintage 1960s Huck Tea Towels Fringed Swedish Weave, Ready to Embroidery

In this grouping: two vintage tea towels/ hand towels.

The sunshine yellow towel has a Swedish weave, and is fringed. It has been decoratively embroidered, as shown. It measures 16-1/2 inches across, 21 inches long.

The blue towel is a light baby blue. It is hemmed and ready to be embroidered. It measures 16 inches wide, 28 inches long.

In my mom's generation, in the 1950s and 1960s, embroidery and sewing skills were paramount. Young ladies were expected to display their home-making skills. Housewives customarily used patterns decorate their linens and textiles, as well as sew dresses and quilts. These are good examples of the types of linens that were purchased so the mistress of the home could spend her evenings sewing for her family.
