The silver quality is superb and it fits in your pocket.
The enamel Burgee is in fabulous condition , as is the enamel cabochon on the push button spring loaded opening mechanism .
The mechanism is fully working and the hinges are also superb .
This is a substantial piece that weighs 120 Grammes.
This is pure quality and is in stunning condition .This was Made in France and I estimate this dates from between 1890 and 1905 but unfortunately I don’t understand French Hallmarks.
It has a gold plated or Gilt / gilded interior and the original elastic for holding cigarettes in place .
There is a central cartouche on the lid for somebody’s initials , this has never been engraved .
The decoration and workmanship is stunning .
This is a fabulous piece for anyone with an interest in sailing , marine , maritime , yachting , nautical or maritime memorabilia .
It could be used for many things including a pill holder or for calling cards .
