Description: A superb Khmer Sandstone Torso of a Female Deity Figure, probably that of 'Uma', beautifully executed in traditional 'Bayon' style of the Khmer Angkor Wat Era, elegantly modeled with intricate detail, measuring 18.25 inches (46.5cm)with stand.

XXX She stands in 'Samabhanga' with her head, arms and feet broken, gracefully poised with a voluptuous profile, and a well-defined naked upper body, partially covered in a long diaphanous sarong, worn low on the hips, with the navel visible, secured by a plain cord, and delicately finished with a flare at the garment's hem. She is fashioned with a decorative ringlet necklace and matching armbands.

XXX The figure has a relatively smooth naturally aged dark gray patina of molted variations, shows even wear on the entire piece, with weathering consistent with age. This skillfully executed image of Uma, is a superb example of the Khmer culture and its dynamic artistry. Its creator has modeled a gracious interpretation of the divine iconic goddess in human form, with lively imagination and conviction.
