Vintage 1950's Handmade Quiroga Michoacan Pitcher. Lovely Folk Art Clay Pottery. Figures on the jug are enhanced by a raised relief technique which gives additional dimension to the piece. It measures 11 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 4.5 inches deep.

Beautiful artwork, no chips or repairs. A wonderful quality statement piece.
From an estate gift in the 1970's. Has been safely stored until I have now brought it up for offer as part of my downsizing. Pieces this nice don't come up too often.

This is most likely a traditional Quiroga water pitcher. It features a group of figures in traditional dress. In addition to those main figures, there are an assortment of hand painted flowers and flourishes that adorn the jug. See photos.

Quiroga is in Michoacán  which is located in the central part of Mexico. Known for it's excellent wares.
