Hi Friends.  This beautiful butter dish was very elegant & no doubt shiny in its day!  It's marked "Colonial Silver Co, Quadruple Plate, #1280" underneath.  It has a glass tray inside.  I found many old dishes with metal, but not many with glass.  It's about 7 1/2" across & stands about 4 1/2" tall.  It has the hanger for a knife, but none comes with it.
