Country Life is a weekly magazine that celebrates rural lifestyles, with features on majestic buildings, hunting, wildlife, antiques, art, fashion and motoring. Each issues has charming pictures, articles and drawings. There is always a lovely frontispiece picture of a member of the gentry. And there are also some fantastic advertisements, plus all the estate agents adverts - a wonderful nostalgic read!

In this issue:
  • Cover: The Goring Gap from Streatley Hill, Berkshire
  • Lady Rosemary Spencer-Churchill
  • The Palace of 1,000 Columns by Roy Alderson - Chateau de Castille, Provence
  • Stories of a Wessex Chase by Barbara Hawkins - Cranborne Chase
  • Blow to British Racing-Car Hopes by J. Eason Gibson - Silverstone
  • Albury Park, Surrey - Part 2 by Arthur Oswald - Home of Helen, Duchess of Northumberland
  • A Patchy Partridge Season? by MacDonald Hastings
  • The Origin of Grottoes by Geoffrey Gigson
  • Animal Drawings by Oliver Warner
  • Fashion: The Evening Mode

The magazine measures approximately 33cm x 24cm

Pages: 634 - 711

ConditionThe magazine is in good vintage condition but is a little tatty and marked. There is evidence of reading wear, wear to the covers, some creasing to the covers and minor marking, staples are rusted making central pages loose, some minor damage to internal pages and to the covers - visible in the pictures below. Considering the magazine is over 70 years old, its condition is very good, but certainly not perfect!

I accept returns. Finally - any questions, just ask!
