Waxwork Records is beyond thrilled to release CRIMSON PEAK Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Fernando Velázquez. Crimson Peak is a 2015 gothic-horror romance film directed and co-written by Guillermo Del Toro (Pans Labyrinth, The Devil’s Backbone, The Shape Of Water). The film stars Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, and Jessica Chastain. It follows the story of an aspiring author who is wood by a mysterious stranger to a remote Gothic mansion built upon a red clay mountain. There, she must decipher the mansion’s many secrets, the mystery behind the ghostly visions that haunt her new home, and fight not only for her sanity, but for her very life. The film is described as a ghost-story and gothic-romance heavily inspired by other horror films such as The Haunting, The Innocents, and The Shining.
About the composer:
Fernando Velázquez is an award winning Spanish concert, film, and TV composer. After studying cello at a number of musical conservatories and performing in several orchestras, Velázquez started his carreer as a film composer. He is credited with scoring over 50 feature films including The Orphanage and A Monster Calls. Velázquez’s haunting CRIMSON PEAK score features a full orchestra brimming with terror-inducing cues, waltz, dark and moody tracks, juxtaposed with passionate and romantic love themes.

Waxwork
Founded by Kevin Bergeron (aka Kevin Dredge). Waxwork Records is a New Orleans based record label specializing in the release of classic cinema, horror, cult, and sci-fi film scores in the highest quality LP packages available. Waxwork revisits the original source master tapes for every release. Often times, these original masters are thought to have been lost, even destroyed, for decades. The master tapes are tracked down by the label, re-mixed, and re-mastered by former White Zombie guitarist Jay Yuenger. All Waxwork titles are pressed to 180 gram audiophile grade vinyl and housed in heavy old style casebound tip-on jackets. Each release features newly commissioned full package artwork and design including liner notes from the film directors and composers.
Grading Guide
Please note – Our grading categories and descriptions differ slightly to the Goldmine and VRG standards so please read carefully. A PLUS or MINUS suffix denotes a very slight improvement or degradation to the attributed grading but not enough to raise or lower the item to the grading category above or below it.Record age is immaterial to its condition. The label is bright, clean and unmarked. Sleeves will be near new condition. Virtually no wear to faces, edges or corners. |
| Excellent [EX] | Record surfaces are bright and clean but may have a few light paper scuffs or superficial surface marks that do not affect play. The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light blemish. Sleeve may have some very minor wear to faces, edges or corners of covers. |
| Very Good [VG] | A well cared for used record. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have scuffs or light scratches. May have some very light surface noise or isolated crackles and pops. Labels may be marked lightly. Sleeve may have some ring wear, moderate wear to edges and corners, light creases or stress lines, and other minor defects. |
