1947 Men's Lord Elgin "Thornton" Manual Wind Watch

This is a beautiful men's Lord Elgin manual wind watch, made in the U.S.A. in 1947 (the serial number U348869 stamped into the movement indicates the year of manufacture).  The 21 jewel grade 556 movement has been cleaned and oiled, and the watch is running well and keeping accurate time.  The dial is N.O.S. (New Old Stock) and therefore is in pristine condition, with no flaws to be seen.  The 14k gold filled fancy lug case has been cleaned and polished, and shows only light surface scratches but no gold loss anywhere.  A brand new acrylic crystal has been installed.  A brand new black banlon strap has been installed.  Overall, the watch is in excellent condition and ready to wear!  Please see pictures for more details, and feel free to ask any questions prior to purchase.

Please keep in mind that it takes a lot of my time, money, and knowledge to get these watches in reliable, running order and to make them look the best they can. I believe I am listing each watch at a fair market value -- I take the time to do a lot of research, and frequently check the "going rate" for watches that are similar to what I am offering, and adjust according to condition. As a result, I do not accept offers. Thank you for your understanding.

I do combine shipping -- all items purchased at the same time will be shipped together in one box for a flat $6.00 fee.  Simply add the items you wish to purchase to your cart, and when you check out, you should see one $6.00 flat shipping charge.

Send me a message if for any reason you see shipping charges greater than $6.00 so that I can send you a refund of the excess.
