Spaghetti Squash x 10 seeds

 (Cucurbita pepo) 

Aka "Gold String Melon' 'Vegetable Spaghetti'. This is a great vege alternative to spaghetti pasta. Fruit is green on the vine but then as it matures the skin yellows. To get the spaghetti texture fruit needs to be fully matured (yellowed). Roast in the oven like you would a potato or pumpkin. Once cooked use a fork to pull apart the flesh and you will see it looks exactly like spaghetti hence the name. This amazing squash will quickly become the family favourite.  Fruit grows to 30cm similar size to a football. A vigorous vine that can be trellised. Fruit can be picked young and cooked like zucchini.

Tips

Sow 1-2 weeks after the last frost or indoors 2-3 weeks before last frost. Transplant carefully to avoid damaging the roots. Mulch to hold soil moisture. When harvesting cut the stems 5cm from the fruit if you want them to last for a while.
