After a day of fishing, wrestling with wet boots

early 20th century vintage halftone print of a painting by Hy S. Watson

This amusing scene shows two men after a day of fishing trying to remove their heavy wet waders. One man lays on the ground while the other struggles to pull off his boots for him. A well-place foot is used for leverage.  A fire crackles nearby, ready to dry the gear.  Fishing poles, a canoe, and a game basket can be seen in the background.

This vintage sporting illustration was printed in New York, over 110 years ago as part of a bound publication of the Forest Fish & Game Commission. It is not a modern reproduction.

The image area measures about 6 x 8 inches (15 x 20 cm). The illustration itself, though lightly aged,  is nevertheless in wonderful condition for an old vintage print - clean with a smooth flat surface with a few light bends which can be seen in the scan, but should be hidden when pressed into a mat or frame. Any imperfections to the margins or edges are evident in the full-view scan.

Suitable for framing, alone or with other prints from this series, this collectible artist's work would be outstanding displayed in your home, office, studio, or den.
