Up for auction is a very rare program for the Second Annual Performance of the Worcester Minstrels, performed at the Worcester Theatre, Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th, 1895.

H Company, 2nd Regiment Infantry was formed in 1894, and "were unanimously voted the superb military minstrels of Worcester", Massachusetts, according to the brief history of this military unit found in the front of the program. I'm guessing this troop was like a military reserve or National Guard unit of today.

The program is filled with dozens of local business advertisements, for everything from boat builders, billiard table manufacturers, hotels and restaurants, wholesale grocers, coal dealers, furniture and carpet dealers, and all kinds of boots, shoes, and other clothing. The people who owned this program must have liked it quite a bit since they saved their ticket stubs and glued them to a page in this program!

The program measures about 6 1/2 x 9 1/2", fifty pages, and is a must-have item for military collectors as well as Worcester collectors!

Very good condition overall, but this 50-page program has pulled away from its staples. The rest of the program is well-bound, all complete, no missing, loose, or torn pages. A few stains  and some normal surface soiling on the covers. Someone also has tried to tape the binding which held things together. Please note these flaws! This is still a very rare program, and part of Worcester's history.

Please email with questions before bidding on this program, and check out our eBay store, Paper Emporium, for hundreds of vintage photos, maps and charts, postcards, cigar labels, and much more!
