Which Grade Should I choose? Engineering or Prismatic?

Engineering - Not For Motorway Use

At Fleet Design for our Engineering Chevrons we use Avery Dennison (Red) Commercial Grade Beaded Retroreflective Film with up to 3 years durability.

Key Information

• • Recommended for all vehicles stopping for work purposes on low speed roads (40 mph or less) or static working like building sites. However, we would recommend for vehicles working on busy city roads and working at night to switch to Prismatic Grade.
  • Meets the daytime and night-time colour requirements for ASTM D4956 and EN 12889
  • Up to 3 years durability if installed and maintained correctly
  • Visibility up to 400 metres
  • Easy to Fit
  • Recommended Application Temperature 18°C (65°F) minimum 

Aura 139 Fluorescent Yellow Vinyl Adhesive Film intended to provide enhanced visibility to vehicles. It is specifically formulated to provide enhanced colour durability for longer outdoor use.

Key Information

• Our Chevron Kits are Flooded’ this means that the entire section of the panel is covered in the yellow fluorescent vinyl. The reflective red sections are then installed on top of the yellow material
• Up to 3 years durability if installed and maintained correctly
• Meets the requirements of ECE-070 for Rear Marking Plates of Heavy and Long Vehicles

Prismatic - For Motorway Use

At Fleet Design for our Prismatic Chevrons we use Aura 191 (Red) High Intensity Prismatic Grade. A micro-prismatic retroreflective sheeting with up to 5-years durability.

Key Information

• Minimum recommendation for all vehicles stopping for work purposes on high speed roads (40mph+). We would also recommend using on vehicles working on busy city roads and working at night.
• Meets the colour and reflectivity requirements of ASTM D-4956 Type III, EN-12899 Class RA2, and many other industry High Intensity Prismatic specifications.
• Metallised, single-ply construction to prevent edge-lifting and eliminate water ingress.
• Micro-prismatic optical elements aligned in multiple directions for a more uniform reflective appearance across different rotations.
• Up to 5 years durability if installed and maintained correctly
• Visibility up to 750 metres
• High Tack Adhesive for easy application
• Recommended Application Temperature 15°C (60°F) minimum

Returns Policy

If you are not happy with your item, please return in the original packaging within 14 days. Goods must be returned carriage paid. Refund of purchase price will be refunded by the same method as the payment was made. Postage and packaging will not be refunded.

If your item is faulty or we have sent you something different to what you ordered, again please return it to us within 14 days and we will give you a full refund or replacement. Including postage and packaging.

Upon receipt of the Chevron Kit, open the packaging and inspect the kit for any transit damage. Check that it is the correct kit for the vehicle, that all the components are included, and they fit the vehicle. DO NOT BEGIN TO FIT THE KIT if it is not correct this will invalidate our returns policy.
