SYMPTOMS OF FAULT

The handbrake button becoming stuck in place or falling out, resulting in the handbrake becoming in operable and being stuck in the upright or downward position. The main Vauxhall dealers will say you will need the whole handbrake unit replacing as the button is not a spare part. This will cost hundreds with labour as the centre console must be removed in order to do so.

Please note there is no OE part number for the button as this part is not available separately from Vauxhall. Will fit all Mokkas within this age range regardless of interior colour or trim. It will also fit left hand drive & right hand drive vehicles.

The problem The OE handbrake button often breaks within the internal mechanism of the handbrake, resulting in the handbrake not working as it should. The button’s arms that slot into the internals of the mechanisms or the shoulder on the bottom of the button can often snap resulting in the button becoming lodged in place and unable to press in or out, or it can come loose and fall out entirely. This is because the OE button is made of very thin plastic and is not made to last the span of the vehicles life.
