Gorgeous Antique Heavy metallic gold finished Knot buttons 11 pcs
10 pcs 1 1/8" (at widest diagonally) plus 1 pc 7/8" (at widest diagonally) They are approx 1/2" deep not including the shank
I believe these are from the 1940s. They are Solid and weighty, possibly a resin.
None of the backs are exactly the same. These buttons appear to be hand-formed by some sort of extrusion method and then finished with something like a metal leaf or a very good metallic enamel and then antiqued or oxidized.
One of these buttons was not quite trimmed evenly, you can see a small tail end of one of the extrusions from the right side- it could possibly be trimmed. I will leave that to the buyer.
They were antique dead stock when I got them in the 1980s.
Back then, I used some for a tapestry coat for a client - in the mid-2000s, she was still wearing the coat, and the buttons had held up amazingly!
They are really the nicest knot buttons I have ever seen. And I am pretty sure they will last forever!
