A rare opportunity to own an immaculate piece of British advertising history, these tin plate discs produced in 1949 have been sat stored away in a private collection where they were rescued from the companies archives when the factory closed.

The Carlisle based factory was created in 1799 by Benjamin Scott and they produced a wide array of items from bank note plates for the bank of England through to lithographic prints and tin boxes. In 1922 the company set up a sub division called the metal box company which produced advertising signs like this as well as metal boxes for well known comapnies such as cadburys or toffee and chocolate boxes.

Im unsure what company these were produced from, but the box which has multiple examples of the sign is a great peek at out advertising history, the price is per piece not per box, they measure 3 inches in diameter.
